Construction Demolition Equipment
WHY DO WE NEED DEMOLITION EQUIPMENT?
Demolition is a key phase of many construction projects. In order to create space for new infrastructure, it is often necessary to demolish existing structures within the project site limits. These structures include buildings, bridges, and roadways that are at the end of their life-cycles, and natural elements in some cases such as rock, soil, and trees. Demolition equipment is needed to complete these tasks.

HOW DO WE SELECT DEMOLITION EQUIPMENT?
Demolition equipment selection is an important part of the demolition process. Project managers want to select the right equipment to complete any required demolition tasks while considering both cost and time efficiency. It is important for PMs to analyze their projects in order to select equipment with the correct size, power, and capabilities. There are different machines made for smaller demolition projects, such as tearing down a house, in contrast to the equipment needed to demolish a skyscraper in a major city.
WHAT TYPES OF EQUIPMENT ARE AVAILABLE?
The most commonly used demolition equipment are hydraulic excavators, loaders, cranes with wrecking balls, and controlled explosives. Loaders and small excavators are used for small projects. Larger excavators, wrecking balls, and explosives are used for larger buildings and bridges. There are various excavator attachments as well that can be used for specific demolition tasks and deconstruction jobs where some materials are saved and recycled through more careful methods.
